What does a bank need from me regarding my investment account?

I am applying for a mortgage. I have an investment account. Does the bank care about how much I have in there? If so, what does the bank need to see regarding that account?

Is it wise to have an investment account and pay the taxes?

I am currently maxing out my ROTH IRA per year. I am also contributing to an individual investment account investing in more mutual funds.

Is this a wise decision? What are the tax implications on my investment account. I know that my ROTH is tax-free but am not sure on what are some of the tax rules for the investment account.

What are some really good investment companies?

I have Fidelity for my retirement and my husband has Principal Funds for his because that’s who our employers go through. We want to open another investment account to save money for a down payment for a house hopefully faster than the low rated savings and CD accounts would get us. Are these really good companies or are their better ones out there?

I have $200 to invest in stocks. I want complete control of my cash. I want no advice. I don’t want huge fees for spreading my small investment amount over several stocks and not buying in complete lots.
Actually, I’m not worried about turning my cash into major profits. I just want to have the fun of investing and I want to get annual reports. It’s more of a learning experience than anything.

I am considering setting up a custodial stock account for my 2 year old. I’m seriously considering DRIP type investment.

What type of account is most beneficial in terms of tax benefits, for both parents and children?

Is it better to own a separate DRIP account until the child reaches the adult age and then gift them the account or use it to pay for the education?
