At my old job they offered me a 401 plan and I beleive they also offered for them to put money in a account. Not much. I didn’t do the 401 plan but I’m wondering if they put money in a account for me. The company I worked for went under, however, I keep getting letters from Mercer saying about changes and stuff so I’m wondering if I have something in there and not know it. When I went online to Mercer I couldn’t find a website for the investment part. Any suggetions?

Bought an investment property in Detroit and unable to find a stable renter. Lender won’t foreclose or do a deed in lieu of. $69000 owed on mortgage even though house is definitely not worth that now. Lender threatening to send it to collections. House is and has been on the market for months.

I have been married for two years and my wife and I have a six week old daughter. We both have steady jobs that pay a normal amount for people our age and newly wed We live in an apartment paying about 550 rent etc etc I hope you get the picture. We are pretty normal and we are (more I am) looking for good investment opportunities that aren’t really risky. Just taking the same money I already save and get a better return. We consistently put 10% of our net into savings. What are your ideas?

I’m looking more for a networking group, not a formal investment club that pools their money. Just a group of people that are somewhat organized that gather to discuss investments.

First I don’t understand why banks would loan money to someone with bad credit or not having the means to repay. Second I don’t understand why investment companies like Bears Stearns would repurchase the loans from the banks. Securitize them and sell them as bonds. What are they learning at these prestigious business schools? How to be a licensed crook? The credit rating agencies are seem to be payed by not assigning the proper credit ratings. The country is falling apart because people don’t have the discipline to live within there means. Greed is running rampant.

Hi, I have an assignment I’m supposed to be doing for Maths and I need to figure out the Principle amount for an investment using the length of time of the investment, the interest rate and amount of compound interest earned during the investment. Unfortunately I’m unable to find an equation or formula suitable to answering this kind of question. I’m not asking for the actual answer to my assignment but if someone would be able to provide me with a formula that would be very helpful.
